Summer Solstice Regatta - Results posted

Seabrook Sailing Club's annual Summer Solstice Regatta was held on the weekend of June 21/22.  The regatta was a great success with good racing and lots of fun for everyone.  The wind was good, between 10-15 knots both Saturday and Sunday.  There was one rain shower on Saturday, but no lightning nor thunder.  The Race Committee was cautious and sent everyone in for lunch while it passed.  Then back out for more racing.

The turnout was excellent, and the racing results are posted below ...

RESULTS

 

There were 11 Lasers on the line, and Hank Saurage from Pelican Yacht Club dominated.  David Ryden from our Seabrook Sailing Club was second, with Ash Beatty from MISA taking third.

 

The Portsmouth class had 9 entries and was extremely competitive.  Theodore McDonald from the Waco Sailing Club tied for first on points, and won the tie-breaker sailing a Johnson 18.  Mike Mashl from the Texas Centerboard Circuit was second sailing a Contender, and Darin Keever was third sailing a Weta trimaran.

 

Sunfish saw 8 boats hitting the starting line, and Josh Rubin from CLSC won the series.  Annie Lancaster from the Austin Yacht Club was second, and Jeremy McCarty from the Shreveport Yacht Club was third.

 

The Vanguard 15 class had 4 entries.  Doug Cummings from our Seabrook Sailing Club won with 8 bullets !!!  Lauren Berger from IBYC was second winning the tie-breaker, and Ann Ross from our Seabrook Sailing Club was third. 

 

There were 3 Laser Radials sailing.  Mason Crowell from Bahama Rigging won the series.  Alexander Hankins from the Lakewood Yacht Club was second, and Noah Runciman from our Seabrook Sailing Club was third.
